Parametric representation of preferences

چکیده
A preference is invariant with respect to a transformation τ if its ranking of acts is unaffected by a reshuffling of the states under τ . We show that any invariant preference must be parametric: there is a unique sufficient set of parameters such that the preference ranks acts according to their expected utility given the parameters. This property holds for all non-trivial preferences, provided only that they are reflexive, transitive, monotone, continuous and mixture linear. ∗The present paper subsumes DeCastro and Al-Najjar (2009), available on the authors’ webpages. Many of the ideas presented here, including subjective sufficient statistic theorem, parametric representations, and parameter-based acts appeared there, as did the major technical results on ergodic theory. †We thank Paolo Ghirardato, Ben Polak and Marciano Siniscalchi for extensive discussions and thoughtful comments when we presented to them the main ideas of this project during the summer and fall of 2009. We also thank Simone Galperti for his research assistance. ‡ Department of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston IL 60208. § Department of Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston IL 60208.

Generalization of general helices and slant helices
In this work, we use the formal definition of $k$-slant helix cite{ali2} to obtain the intrinsic equations as well as the position vector for emph{slant-slant helices} which a generalization of emph{general helices} and emph{slant helices}. Also, we present some characterizations theorems for $k$-slant helices and derived, in general form, the intrinsic equations for such curves. Thereafter, fr...
متن کاملConstruction of a surface pencil with a common special surface curve
In this study, we introduce a new type of surface curves called $D$-type curve. This curve is defined by the property that the unit Darboux vector $vec{W}_{0} $ of a surface curve $vec{r}(s)$ and unit surface normal $vec{n} $ along the curve $vec{r}(s)$ satisfy the condition $leftlangle vec{n} ,vec{W}_{0} rightrangle =text{constant}$. We point out that a $D$-type curve is a geodesic curve or an...

The purpose of this study comparison of and ranking mate-selection preferences among female and male students, and three ethnic groups (Kord, Bakhtiyari, and Arabian language). 600 students (in 6 colleges) were selected using randomized stratified sampling, and completed the Mate-Selection Preferences Inventory. To assess of the validity of this measure principle components analysis (varimax ro...
متن کاملExploring Different Oral Corrective Feedback Preferences: Role of Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Intelligences
This study explored corrective feedback (CF) types and their relationship to L2 learners’ intelligence types. Participants were 60 intermediate L2 learners aged 18-29 in Isfahan, Iran. Based on their intelligence types as intrapersonal and interpersonal, the participants were divided into 2 groups. McKenzie’s MI Inventory (1999) and a researcher-designed questionnaire on CF types were employed....
متن کاملUsing MOLP based procedures to solve DEA problems
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a technique used to evaluate the relative efficiency of comparable decision making units (DMUs) with multiple input-output. It computes a scalar measure of efficiency and discriminates between efficient and inefficient DMUs. It can also provide reference units for inefficient DMUs without consideration of the decision makers’ (DMs) preferences. In this paper, ...
